  • Do I need a passport to travel to the Bahamas?

    A valid passport is required for anyone, of any age, traveling by air to the Bahamas. A valid passport or passport card is required for all passengers, age 16 and over, traveling by cruise. Children, 15 & under, may use a certified birth certificate instead of a passport or passport card when traveling to the Bahamas by cruise only.

  • Will I need any other government issued documents when traveling to the Bahamas?

    Travelers from countries other than the U.S. or Canada may be required to obtain a visa to travel to the Bahamas. Persons under the age of 18 traveling without their legal guardian must have a signed, notarized letter of consent from their legal guardian to travel outside the U.S. The Minor Legal Consent form is available from GoBahamas.com.   • I was recently married but my passport still has my maiden name. How will this affect my travel plans?

    Your travel package, including air travel, cruise travel and hotel accommodations, should be booked in the name on your valid passport. If you book your travel package in your previous name, take a copy of your marriage certificate or other legal document to show the reason for the change.

  • What is the legal drinking age in the Bahamas?

    The legal age in the Bahamas is 18, which makes it a very popular Spring Break destination. You may enter any casino, bar or other adult establishment and legally order alcohol at 18.

  • Is US currency accpeted in the Bahamas?

    You may use U.S. currency while in the Bahamas. The Bahamas print their own currency, however, it is equal to the U.S. dollar and most businesses will accept either as payment.
